Bringing Resurrection
...in lives
…in homes
…in community
SOAR
SOAR (Student Opportunities at Resurrection) serves students, their families and the community by providing tutoring and mentoring activities that help students grow in body, mind and spirit by preparing them to become the people they were created to be.
SOAR Mission Statement
“Bringing hope to students as they grow in body, mind and spirit.”
The church building is humming every Tuesday afternoon during the school year! SOAR is a tutoring/mentoring program for children Kindergarten through 5th grade. Students come from the two schools in the church’s neighborhood.
Adults from Resurrection in the City, the neighborhood and congregations in the Denver metro area share their time and love with the children from 3:15 to 6;00 pm Students complete their assigned school homework and then enjoy various enrichment activities—reading, games, puzzles, Chromebooks with their tutors. Tutors are with their assigned student the entire time—enjoying snacks, doing homework or games, Jesus Time and the hot family-style meal.
God is doing amazing things at Resurrection in the City and through SOAR
which started in March 2015.
We are exceedingly grateful for initial funding from an LCMS Domestic Grant, Rebecca’s Garden of Hope Grant and Thrivent Action Team Grant. Several individuals and LCMS congregations along the Front Range provide generous financial gifts and in-kind contributions.

Not everyone wants to tutor . . . Volunteers serve in our kitchen for snack and dinner time. A number of volunteers prepare our family-style dinners. Others purchase snacks/desserts.
