Disciples of Resurrection in the City are “bringing resurrection… in lives, in homes, in community. ”
Our worship is vibrant and sensitive to the diverse, urban culture. Our outreach has an eye on the community’s future with a successful tutoring program that serves families with elementary-aged children. We’ve built programs around the people with the greatest needs after the pattern of our Lord Jesus, including the homeless, the unemployed, and the hungry. We have flooded our neighborhood with prayers, partnered with other churches and organizations, and have more recently Called a pastor on a mission. God has blessed our work. Now we desire to see Him increase our capacity
Disciples of Resurrection in the City are “bringing resurrection… in lives, in homes, in community. ”
Resurrection in the City sits in a unique corner in Northeast Denver. New people are moving in at a quick rate – people whose lives need resurrection, just like the neighborhood and just like our church did in 2010. We believe it is God’s desire for us to deploy our missionary pastor into the neighborhood where he and his family can develop relationships and witness to their neighbors with the effectiveness of true community members.
God’s mission and vision for us requires a capital investment by the congregation in partnership with the Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF). In addition to our regular offerings, the Resurrecting our Community campaign requires an over-andabove contribution by member families over the next three years. By this collective effort, supported by the investors of LCEF and the commitments of partnering individuals and congregations, we will see God’s resurrection taking place in Northeast Denver… in lives, in homes, in community
We see God “resurrecting” one of our old buildings right across the street from the church, which has been sitting vacant for years, into a livable home and space for mission for our pastor and his family. We see God “resurrecting” other buildings and areas of our campus for the expansion and improvement of current outreach efforts, and a variety of new ministry opportunities. We see God “resurrecting” our operation with an increase in staff that will allow us to do His expanding work with excellence. We see God “resurrecting” all our disciples’ hands-on ministry in the church’s neighborhood through an every-member recommitment to community outreach at least once per week.
