Welcome to Resurrection in the City.

We are a joyful and welcoming community of Christian people of diverse ages and ethnicities. We are growing in discipleship, empowered to live by the Spirit, and equipped to be Christ’s people in the city.

No matter who you are or what life challenges you face, Jesus seeks to draw all people to himself, forgiving their sins by His death on the cross and sanctifying them for a life of love for God and service to their neighbors.

Resurrection in the City is a community formed by Jesus in Baptism and gathered around Scripture, Prayer, and the Sacrament.

Resurrection in the City is a member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

HISTORY

Resurrection in the City began as the former Mount Calvary Lutheran Church on November 17, 1938, on the corner of 36th Avenue and York Street in Denver, CO. From Mount Calvary’s beginning it developed into a thriving ministry that reached into the community. Over the years, a changing community, changing times and difficult decisions challenged the congregation. In 2010 the congregation began an intense period of self-examination, which resulted in a new vision and a new commitment to our ministry.

In 2013 our faith community was reborn and became known as Resurrection in the City Lutheran Church.
